BEDWORTH United manager Liam O'Neill was delighted his side's
clash with Dunstable Town was called off on Saturday - because it means his
injury ravaged squad has time to recover.
The Greenbacks are without a game this week as they were dumped out of the FA
Cup by Willenhall Town, meaning five players could be available for the home
game against Arlesey Town in 11 days time.
O'Neill said: "I was pleased the game was called off because it will ease the
pressure on us. We had eight out on Saturday.
"I had pencilled myself into the squad because of the problems. The players have
been given Tuesday night off because even though a few will be back, we can't
afford to get more injuries, it isn't worth the risk."
The long break between games means skipper Ben Twigger may recover from a
troublesome achilles problem, while central midfielder Paul Lamb, winger Paddy
Connolly and central defender Danny Pitham should all beat their respective
injuries.
Central defender Andreas Kattos will definitely make his debut at the next
available chance.
The Cypriot Under-21 international has been away since the start of the season
due to personal commitments in his homeland.
O'Neill will use the break as opportunity to scout future opponents and teams in
the region tonight and on Saturday.
Likely destinations include games involving Gresley Rovers and Stratford Town.
