Bedworth United fans are still waiting for their first taste of success in the league after watching their favourites drop yet another three points to unbeaten Rothwell Town in front of a 200 plus crowd at the Oval.
The visitors kicked off playing towards the town end , and soon took control with chances falling to Steve Julian and Jason Turner, United`s first threat came after seven minutes after a move between Nick Mowl and Matty Blair was broken up by Martin Flanagan.
Five minutes later a free kick was given against Towns Adam Sturgess on the edge of the eighteen yard box, from the kick Fazel Koriya rocked the cross bar.
Almost from the following goal kick the ball was played to the opposite end where it picked up by winger Brett Darby who skipped past the green shirted defence and put the ball wide of keeper Andy Kemp to give the visitors a goal lead.
United drew level on twenty five minutes from a Koriya penalty, following a foul on Danny Edmonds by Sturgess.
United`s equaliser only lasted a few minutes before Town regained the advantage a well placed Dominic Hallows corner was met by the head of Steve Julian almost on the goal line giving Kemp no chance, by now the Bones were playing some attractive football and thoroughly deserved their half time lead.
Half Time 1 - 2
Straight from the re-start a United attack saw a Blair attempt scrape the cross bar ,minutes later a fine move between Jason Moore, Koriya, and captain Paddy Connolly was bought to a stand still after he was deemed to be offside.
Twenty minutes from time saw the home side reduced to ten men after Gilbert Cummins was shown a straight red for bringing down Turner just outside the goal area whilst in a last man defender situation.
Five minutes later Rothwell put the game to bed with their third goal, a run down the right by Kevin Byrne saw his pass go to the unmarked Hallows who had the simplest of chances to beat Kemp, not long after and United had to withdraw Sam Shilton following a hamstring injury leaving the men in Green with just nine players after manager Liam O`Neill had used up his quota of substitutes.
Bedworth now have a week to prepare for their biggest game so far this season, when they will be travelling to unbeaten Midland Alliance outfit Causeway United in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup which will be played at Stourbridge FC
