After Tuesday night performance against Bromsgrove Rovers the greenbacks followers must have thought things were improving, how wrong they were, United were beaten by the better team on the day and unfortunately the score line flattered the home side.
Burnham kicked off towards the town end, and were soon putting pressure on the home defenders with Andy Kemp making a fine finger tip save from blues Stuart Swift in the eleventh minute, from the ensuing corner united broke away culminating in a poor from Faziel Koriya.
With sixteen minutes gone the visitors won another corner which saw Andrew Sear head against the woodwork, a poor defensive clearance by Burnham saw a Robbie Beard shot scrape the cross bar from thirty yards.
Straight from the goal kick the visitors went straight down the park and gained a corner which was headed inches over the cross bar by Will Dunlop, the solitary goal of the game was scored by Burnham's Dean Papali on twenty three minutes after easily beating Paddy Connolly, and then chipping the ball over Kemp as the keeper tried to narrow the angle.
Towards the end of the half the Buckinghamshire again were denied by the woodwork this time it was Dunlop who was unlucky following a Robert Saunders corner.
Moments before the half time whistle the Blues produced the best move of the half but their final touch let them down with Ryan Bird putting the ball behind the goal with just Kemp to beat.
Half Time 0 - 1
An uneventful second half followed much to the frustration of the 198 crowd, Burnham gained control of the ball on fifty minutes but were again stopped by Kemp who was by far the busier of the two keepers.
Man of the match for Bedworth Matty Blair made a great solo run which ended with his pass to Ashley Robinson being saved by Chay Morris. Ten minutes from time United`s substitute Danny Edmond went close as his header crashed against the cross bar.
All in all a very disappointing afternoons work for Liam O`Neill and his staff who after three games are at the wrong end of the table, but with the game against Sutton Coldfield tonight they have the chance to pick themselves up before next weeks FA cup game at Leek Town.
Full Time 0 - 1
